Lord of all creation
Of water, Earth and sky
The heavens are Your tabernacle
Glory to the Lord on high

God of wonders beyond our galaxy
You are holy, holy
The universe declares Your Majesty
You are holy, holy
Lord of Heaven and Earth
Lord of Heaven and Earth

Early in the morning
I will celebrate the light
When I stumble in the darkness
I will call your name by night

Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and Earth
Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and Earth
Hallelujah to the Lord of Heaven and Earth

July 17, 2003 (Al): I first sang this song during a worship service at Christ the King Evangelical Free Church in Denville, New Jersey last September. During Christine Ebersole's visit with us last month, she mentioned this song. It is on a Caedmon's Call CD and a Third Day DVD that arrived last week.

In my recent reading about postmodernism, I have become aware of the importance of the creation motif in ministering to postmodernists. Traditional evangelicalism often begins its focus on the Fall, then on Redemption. While we now live in a fallen world, creation and the heavens still declare the glory of God. A more balanced view of Creation and nature would help the Church to more effectively reach out to our postmodern world.

I like how this song focuses me on both the majesty and the closeness of God. Both are reasons for praise and adoration of the Master Designer and Artist.
